While no one disputes the genious of A R Rahman, I would like to note the contribution and talent of the lyrisit and interpreter of the songs, “Bollywood” playback singing star Sukhwinder Singh. Rahman’s songs are only made better when he collaborates with Sukhwinder, and Sukhwinder’s incredible vocals always hit a home run. This is great music from a great film. But I still wish I could have a whole hour-long album of Sukhwinder singing Rahman…
This is a wonderful, complex album. It has moments of haunting beauty as well as lively playfullness. It’s like a wine you want to keep drinking.
A purely beautiful soundtrack which will make you relive this hauntingly beautiful movie by Deepa Mehta.
I have seen this movie a number of times, taking friends each time to see it. Not one person is not moved by it. I have offered the soundtrack too. Do not hesitate in getting it if you have seen the movie. Superb, both movie and music.
