This review is from: The Resurrection of Spiders in the Moonlight (Audio CD)

Jeffrey and the boys were often called “the best bar band in America”, a title that was richly deserved. These guys could play a variety of American musical styles long before the term “Americana” was invented. Jeffrey’s notoriety for his hilarious lyrics and outrageous stage behavior sometimes overshadowed his musical talents - this guy was one great singer, songwriter and bandleader. No recording fully captures Jeff and the band in their prime, but this album is a nice reminder of how good they were. Highly recommended.
