It’s been four years since New York dance-punk group the Rapture released their critically acclaimed record ‘Pieces of the People We Love,’ but after performing a new song Saturday night at FYF Fest at Los Angeles State Historic Park, it appears long overdue new material is on the way.
Lead singer Luke Jenner waited to almost the end of the band’s one-hour set to announce the new song, entitled ‘Sail Away.’ As Jenner articulated the lyrics and bandmates pelted the synths, it became clear the pop song left behind the band’s earlier punk proclivities and headed into more New Wave territory.
