THE E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) The new album by The Black Eyed Peas is off to a blazing start! The first single from The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies), BOOM BOOM POW was also the Peas’ very first #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart! With The E.N.D., The Peas are poised to continue with the success of Elephunk and their fourth release Monkey Business - they have had multiple hit anthems, such as “My Humps” “Pump It” and “Let’s Get It Started” along with “Don’t Phunk With My Heart” “ [Read More...]

A self-confessed music snob, just a few years ago I would have dismissed this as throwaway music. And it still is. If you want lyrics, go find Leonard Cohen. If you want virtuosity, grab some Zappa. If you want a fun, energetic listen for a summer drive, look no farther.
The latest offering from the Black Eyed Peas is far, far removed from their rap beginnings (in fact it really drops all pretense of rap at all and can easily be labeled “dance pop”). It is also the most consistent release since the introduction of the Elephunk-era lineup. Starting strong with the single “Boom Boom Pow,” The E.N.D. keeps the momentum going for the first five tracks. It fades a bit in the middle, regains its steam with the excellent “Showdown” and then really drops off with the overly socially conscious closers “Now Generation” and “One Tribe.” To make this a 5-star release they would need a little resequencing: 1) Lose the Lieutenant Worff narration bits, 2) Drop “Now Generation” and “One Tribe,” and 3) relocate “Rockin to the Beat” to mid-album and close with the album’s highlight, “Meet Me Halfway,” where the Peas gel as a band and Fergie hits her vocal peak, emulating Debbie Harry at her best.
All said, this is incredibly fun, albeit disposable, pop. It is tailor-made for a road trip - or even your commute home on a June Friday - and The E.N.D. will fit nicely in your changer right along with Lady GaGa’s The Fame, Flo Rida’s R.o.o.t.s (Route Of Overcoming The Struggle) and Akon’s Freedom. None are bound to be writ large in the history of recorded music but all provide one heck of a good time - and isn’t that what it’s all about, anyway?

CD
I enjoy about 4 of the songs on this CD
. I am a litte dissappointed that the Boom Boom Pow song has a few curse words in it.

A new low?
Listening to Mozart might make you more intelligent, but listening to B.E.P. “The E.N.D.” will most definitely make you dumber.

A Good CD
I really like this CD. I just bought it today and i really like it. I rated every track from 1-10.
Welcome to the E.N.D.
I am so tired of every group latching on to the vocader to process their vocals. I mean it’s ok to use it to enhance a few words for the effect, but when every single song is dominated by auto-tune something has to give. From Lil wayne, to Akon and T-Pain, then Kanye’s new record. Now the BEP have jumped on the bandwagon, and not a single track is missing this played out sickening auto-tune effect. Come on people, can’t musicians actually SING anymore?
I could not wait for the new BEP cd to come out - I even went to Target at lunch to buy it so I could have it ASAP. After listening to it all the way through, my first thought was “dang, that’s it?”. It is SO NOT the BEP that we all know and love. I gave it 3 stars because it’s still got some good beats. Not nearly as many fun lyrics and vocals though - like the others said, lots of electronic sounding stuff.
My recommendation - buy the CD from Target so that you can get the bonus CD. Totally made it worth the $9.98. It’s 10 extra songs (6 remixes and 4 new songs), and it reminds you of the “old” BEP.

Can I give it Negative Stars?
Save your money - buy anything else instead. I normally don’t mind the Black Eyed Pea, they are vapid pop music. But this is pure crap. Its not techno pop, its not hip hop.

Why am I so addicted to this CD????
I don’t know why I continually go back to the “Pop” section of my record store whenever a new BEP CD is released, but feel compelled to do so.

The Energy Doesn’t Die on The E.N.D.
Black Eyed Peas have a unique sound which is good. I don’t know if that many people are going to like this CD, or not. The E.N.D. is different from their previous albums.

Wasup with the reviews? I LOVE it
Love the album. I’ve been following the band since they first released their 1st album. A change is always good. A good change even better. This is a feel good cd.

Black Eyed Peas “The End”
The Black Eyed Peas latest cd is great. Very funky and cool. The E.N.D. is just the beginning.

Not up to normal standards
I’m a fan and while on previous CDs, I could press repeat on any track and be happy for it to play over and over, with THE END, there are only three or four songs that had the…
