When the members of Sunny Day Real Estate announced their reunion tour, no one could have predicted that the underground emo-band’s gathering would have coincided with the fact that their song ‘Seven,’ from their 1994 debut release ‘Diary,’ was going to be included in the new ‘Guitar Hero 5.’
“I was surprised,” bassist Nate Mendel tells Spinner. “I didn’t know that we had passed that threshold into public consciousness. I can’t wait to get a copy and play it! It is a really super-fun, ridiculous, funny thing to play one of your own songs in Guitar Hero. I’ve done it with Foo Fighters [his former band]. I think I was better at Kansas, though, that was where I shined.”
