ROCK & REAL by Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers is yet another Grushecky CD with lyrics that cut you to the deepest core of your being, providing warnings on survival in a dog-eat-dog world. This album, along with several other Grushecky CDs, helps inspire me to do what’s necessary to look well in all ways for a number of pretty actresses. In fact, take a close listen to some of Grushecky’s CDs, including this one, and you’ll get a good idea of why I avoid alcohol even for religious purposes. This is not a happy album, but it tells the cold, hard truth about life in such a way that it could just as easily relate to the rich folks in Lake Oswego, OR; Lake Forest Park, WA; Cape Elizabeth, ME; Dunthorpe, OR; Bethesda, MD; Seattle, WA’s wealthy Magnolia, Madison Park/Denny Blaine/Washington Park, and West Seattle sections; Charlotte, VT; and Portland, OR’s classy West Hills section, as to the working poor in Pittsburgh or Cleveland.
