Robert Plant brought his Band of Joy back to London on Friday, Oct. 29, for the BBC Radio 2 Electric Proms show at the Roundhouse — performing several Led Zeppelin classics — and featuring the London Oriana Choir for an emotional hymn-like finale.

Slotted between Sir Elton John and Neil Diamond as headliners of this year’s Electric Prom’s festival, Plant and the Band of Joy — country queen singer Patty Griffin and veteran US musicians Darrell Scott, Byron House, Marco Giovino and Buddy Miller — certainly lived up to their billing as the “rock” night. Well, country rock, as Plant continues to stun with his Delta blues, country roots and Americana influences.

As anticipated, Plant referenced his past plenty, leading the group through several adapted versions of classic Led Zeppelin tracks.
