Hard work does pay off, it seems. 1980s heavy metallers Anvil — made famous again by a recent documentary — have signed a record deal after spending the last few years trying to find their music a permanent home.

The veteran band — dubbed “the real life Spinal Tap” — were the stars of the 2008 documentary film, ‘Anvil! The Story of Anvil,’ which saw the weathered headbangers trying to revisit past glories and attempt to push Anvil back into heavy metal fame again.

Much of the film saw the band attempt to secure a record deal, but nothing was forthcoming.

However, as the Metro reports, they’ve signed a deal with the End Records and will release new album, ‘Juggernauts of Justice,’ in 2011.
