By ‘eck! The intra-Greater Manchester feud between Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher and Brit Awards host Peter Kay appears to be escalating.

The Bolton-based comedian described Gallagher as a “knobhead” while compering Tuesday evening’s (Feb. 16) ceremony after the Mancunian singer left brother Noel out of his “best album of the last 30 years” gong acceptance speech, then threw his microphone, and the award, into the audience.

Gallagher responded to the zing via his Twitter account on Wednesday, writing “Listen up fat f—. As a real northerner I was brought up 2 say s— 2 people’s faces not behind their back. Live forever LG”. Leaving out the question of whether a ‘tweet’ technically counts as saying something to someones, face, those fighting words to us. Happily for fans of celebrity spats, Kay has quickly returned fire with a missive on his own official website.
