Liam Gallagher has revealed that the name of his new band is to be Beady Eye. As previously reported on Spinnermusic, the ex-Oasis singer has also recruited his former band mates — guitarists Gem Archer and Andy Bell and drummer Chris Sharrock — for the group.

The band have also hired the services of Steve Lillywhite to produce their as-yet-untitled debut album. The famed producer has worked with the likes of U2, Morrissey and the Rolling Stones in the past.

In an interview with free UK magazine Shortlist, Gallagher said that the first single from Beady Eye’s new album is expected to be released in October, with gigs happening around then in support of the record.
