‘One Tree Hill‘ has always embraced up-and-coming musicians like Wakey!Wakey! and Grace Potter by not only featuring them in episodes but also giving them a chance to show off their acting chops. This season, the show’s eighth, soul singer-songwriter Laura Izibor got the opportunity to join the cast and show off her talents.
“[Producer] Mark Schwahn came to me about two years ago now and mentioned that he was thinking about writing a role specifically for me,” Izibor tells Spinner. “He was asking what I’m interested in, what my schedule is like. I was like, ‘Oh my God, that would be amazing.’ Like so many showbiz things, it was like, ‘OK, that was just an idea.’ Then he came back to me at the beginning of this year and was like ‘This is like for real now.’”
