Michael Jackson is to be buried on what would have been his 51st birthday, his father Joe Jackson has announced.
Jackson Sr said plans for his son’s funeral had been put into place in the last few days, the Reuters news agency reported. The singer would have celebrated his birthday on Aug. 29.
Jackson died of heart failure on June 25, ahead of what would have been a 50-night residency at London’s 02 Arena.
There had been speculation the star had already been buried at a private ceremony, though this had never been confirmed by family representatives. A public memorial service was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles last month.
