The songwriting stresses description over prescription, raising questions rather than pushing answers, on songs about AIDS, the homeless, racism, and sexism. This stands among one of my favorite Sweet Honey recordings. “I Be Your Water” is one of thier songs that sticks in one’s mind after hearing it. There is so much her to enjoy and to educate. I’d advise just about anyone to give it a listen.
