Man, I don’t see how the previous reviewers could diss this CD by giving it such low ratings. The Magic Mike re-mix is my favorite version because of the James Brown breakbeats he looped on top of the main rhythm. And the original 12″ vocal version plus Bonus Beats 1 is reason enough to buy this CD. This is the song that everybody was rockin’ during the summer of 82′. Classic jam that made all the b-boys and b-girls start breakin’ and poppin’!
It just brings back the early sound and feel of hip hop that I miss so much. None of this “bling bling” crap that’s going around now. This song gave birth to the entire “electro funk” scene which in turn influenced other styles of dance music like hard house, techno, etc. Add this to your collection of old school CD’s and call yourself a true hip hop head!!!
