Carly Simon

Singer-songwriter Carly Simon’s lawsuit against Starbucks has been dismissed by a federal judge for the second consecutive time, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

In 2009, Simon was hoping to join the likes of Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney and Joni Mitchell when she signed a deal with Starbucks’ Hear Music label. That agreement would’ve placed Simon’s album on display cases near the coffee chain’s checkout counters — a move which proved surprisingly successful for her peers. Less than a week before her album’s scheduled release, however, Starbucks pulled the plug on its foray into the music business.
