Carl Barat has confirmed on Twitter that he has become a dad, as girlfriend Edie Langley gave birth to a boy over Christmas.
On New Years Eve, he tweeted, “Mehreh Christmas one and all. I am the devastatingly proud father of a boy, who’s (sic) name is Eli. X.”
The Libertines founder and solo artist had predicted he would spend the holidays with a new family member. In an interview quoted by Digital Spy he said, “How will I spend Christmas? Well, I’m having a baby so I don’t know. Maybe we’ll end up spending it in a manger. Or a maternity ward.”
