Beth Ditto is to return in the New Year with an EP of electropop tunes, produced by dance duo Simian Mobile Disco.

The Gossip’s outspoken singer first worked with James Ford and Jaz Shaw on the track ‘Cruel Intentions’ for their 2009 album ‘Temporary Pleasure.’

That quietly smouldering number was a departure from Ditto’s trademark in-your-face style and these four tracks carry on where it left off, judging from the snippets you can sample here.

These are posted by dance label Deconstruction Records, now resurrected by Mancunian DJ Mike Pickering.
